This is really interesting to me. I was pondering the opposite scenario for a short story, one in which an AI, exposed to art, is affected by it. No idea–yet–how I’d set it up, but I like what you’ve done here.
Yes, I know AI has been done to death in stories, but I still enjoy them. What’s so interesting is that, technically, humans seem to be getting closer, but there remains that gap. (The world chess master recently beat the computer though he said it was a close thing.) And even when we manage to create a facsimile of intelligence, there are still the issues of consciousness and emotion. That fascinates me.
I think there’s a lot to AI that hasn’t been dealt with yet, mainly due to so many stories taking the Asimov’s laws route. That closes off a lot of neat ideas and a lot of free will implications. AI fascinates me as well.
I tried to find that article about Magnus Carlsen and now can’t. I was sure I read that in the Wall Street Journal. 😦
